I was introduced to Squid through my physical therapy clinic where I was treated after a total knee replacement. My PT sessions ended with 15 minutes of Squid squeeze and it was heaven--so much so I often joked to my therapist about having a shirt made that read "I'm only here for the ice." When I learned I could buy a Squid for home use I was thrilled. I'm back to work at a job that is very physical, and I'm still doing two rounds of PT at home each day, so by the end of a day icing and compressing with my Squid is a wonderful way to relax and know I'm doing good stuff for my knee. Plus it feels wonderful--like an icy little hug. The Squid is a solid product--it's built/sewn very well, all the components are top notch quality, and it's super easy to use--charge up the motor, connect the air tube, place the ice pack in the wrap, settle into a comfy spot, and you're good to go. The bell that dings to let you know time is up is perfect--not too loud, not too soft--and other than that Squid is almost completely silent. Squid beats a standard ice pack by a mile--the automated compression is the thing that makes Squid stand out from all the other ice packs--and they even include a skin protector sleeve so you don't get ice burn while using it. It's a small but very thoughtful touch. I highly recommend a Squid if you have a body part that needs icing.
Purchased for icing after a knee replacement. Use it at least three times a day after exercises to help with swelling. It just feels so relaxing to use to help the healing of the knee. Would highly recommend.
I was impressed with this system when I was in a physical therapist office. It's easy to use and much more economical than more expensive systems. I was disappointed in the first week that a part of the sleeve broke off, but I was immediately sent a replacement. I just hope this doesn't continue to happen.
Walmart only had one size, lg., a bit to small. However, it works great!!
This unit is vital to the recovery process after surgery and no one else can beat the price. 10 out of 10!!!! Would recommend this unit to any and everyone.
Recently had a total knee replacement. This little device drives the cold into the tissues. It has been my best friend for several weeks. Setting the amount of compression is tailored to the users needs. Extremely helpful during recovery and rehabilitation!
I, at a relatively young age, now have had both knees replaced - a legacy of sporting injuries etc. I’ve tried ice machines, ice packs etc and all have worked fairly well. However, I came across the SquidGo technology at a time when I needed to replace my home ‘Cryo’ machine; spoke to Company representatives and was impressed enough by a couple of features to the degree that I bought two units. I have to say that I am very pleased with the product - ease of use in particular. The benefit of having an ice cold gel pack that can be compressed intermittently, every 30 seconds or so, has aided significantly my recovery time from cycling and swimming. I use 2 units at the same time, ie 1 on each knee, it takes 2 or 3 minutes so set up, and I run them through 2 cycles for 30 minutes in total. I feel an immediate difference to general joint aches and a significant difference for the better in comparison to ice therapy.
I had purchased both and ice machine and flex gel gear before my TKA. Neither one worked like the one I had at my Physical Therapy clinic. I asked what they used on my first visit. Took a picture and of the Squid and did my research! Ordered immediately. Best decision I ever made! Anyone undergoing a TKA needs this device. So worth the money rather than spending it on ineffective equipment.
Had a knee replacement 4 weeks ago and the Squid has been great for my recovery. The pressure pushes the cold deep into the joint, at a level much deeper than an ice circulating machine or ice pack. The only negative is the gel packs melt quickly and freeze fairly slowly, so I got two of them so I could always have one ready. Great product.
Had a torn achilles last year and my PT used it on me every session, I fell in love with it! Fast forward a year and had to have knee surgery. Now i get iced - compression @ the pysical therapist and when ever i want during the day or night. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
Just had total knee replacement. Leg/Knee System has been great. Used every day. Only negative is that the cloth barrier sleeve was not with the packaging.
The ice pack and easy pressure really help my knee and leg
I love this compression system I have been using it for my knees. One knee went out and unfortunately the other one went out after healing the first injury. You can use it anywhere and it only takes 15 minutes per session. It really gives you relief by removing swelling. I highly recommend purchasing for injury relief and healing.
This product is superb. Just 15 minutes and the pain in your knee is reduced significantly—maybe to zero pain. Used consistently, swelling is reduced Best product I have ever used.
I used this at the PT office and had to have one to use at home. I love it and referred a friend already to buy one too.
Would like a bit more contour of the ice pad to my knee!
I like the Squid system for my arthritic knee. It really seems to drive the cold into the knee. I plan on using this after knee replacement surgery. It's very portable and I like using the string backpack to keep everything together. The customer service I received with Pierre D. was outstanding!! He gets a 10 in my book!!
I was introduced to the Squid at my PT office after a total knee replacement. It is a great tool to aid in pain management and to reduce swelling. I am extremely satisfied! Will highly recommend. The customer support is wonderful too!!
I cannot say enough about how wonderful this product is! When I was doing PT, he used the squid on me. I ordered me one immediately! The little valve stem broke. I called customer service he IMMEDITATLY sent me another one! After a couple of conversations, I feel like he is a friend of mine! I would HIGHLY recommend a squid for anyone with joint pain.
I used the squid compression ice cuff after my total knee replacement. It is so streamlined and easy to use! The ice was helpful with pain management/swelling and the compression helped with swelling/circulation. There is so much personal work involved in recovery! This made each 15min “squid session” a comfort to just sit back and have it do the work for you. Customer service is great too. I ordered the wrong size and it was easily and quickly managed. Highly recommend!
I bought the Squid to treat my right knee that I had surgery upon 2 1/2 years ago. I was having acute pain issues and taking medication did not help. After using the Squid 3 times a day for one week I have seen a marked improvement in my knee such that I can start some mild exercise again. The device is so simple to use and cold combined with the pressure cycles feels marvelous. Doctors recommend devices similar to this for post surgery rehab -- this is just as good if not better.
Love it!! It's amazing!! Helps with my knee pain.
Perfect for left total knee replacement in the weeks after. Well focused and managed cold is your friend.
I've only been using it for a few days following knee surgery, but it is a-mazing! I've used Game Ready at PT, but they are pricey. This provides a similar experience at a 1/3rd of the cost. Keeps swelling down and feels great after a tough day at PT or doing exercises at home.
My daughter tore her ACL and used this at her PT. She loved it so much, we got one for home. The device really keeps the swelling to a minimum after therapy/workouts and is very easy to use. Thanks for a great product to aid in her recovery.
Excellent, easy to use device for post-op swelling. Highly recommend!!
I've used a squid on/off for years on an old ankle injury and am now also using the leg and knee wrap for an old broken and dislocated kneecap. Nothing takes the place of physical therapy, but the squid works so much better than traditional icing and has kept the need for injections at bay!
The overall experience is good. The compression/ice combo is really great and it absolutely is worth buying. The reason for the “but” is that although the wrap is advertised as leg/knee, it’s not great for use on the knees. There’s just really no way to get the Velcro evenly attached from the top to the bottom so there’s always a weird imbalance of pressure when it inflates. Still gets plenty cold but I think they should just advertise is as leg and leave the knee part for the knee wrap.
Squid knee provided superior relief after knee surgery. Compression and ice combo was so helpful and so much less cumbersome than other products.
I have always hated icing my knee (several issues not repairable) and squid go comes as a wonderful surprise. It's ice and it's cold but somehow the compression makes it more tolerable for me. I am already at level 4 and use it twice a day. A professional baller dancer recommended it to me and I'm forever grateful!
I used the day after ACL reconstruction surgery at my PT visit. Then decided to order my own and paid for overnight delivery! This is a must have!
The Squidgo is easy to use and provides different levels of compression.
The Squid has been very beneficial in my recovery from knee surgery. Love the compression.
The SquidGo has given me my quality of life back. Used twice a day, along with an Rx for a long acting NSAID and with plenty of cycling, the SquidGo has taken the swelling and pain out of my osteoarthritic knee. I can walk again. I can play with my kids again (with bounds), and I can sleep again. I cannot say enough good things about the SquidGo. I do wish it had a level 5 for pressure, though ;-)
I have told several friends having any surgery than this is a MUST HAVE if they want quick recovery....bought extra gel pack and after 1st use had leakage from a seam- but other than that 5 STARS
After receiving surgery for a torn meniscus, I repeatedly used the system to help with my recovery. I highly recommend it for that purpose. Having the extra large enabled me to wrap it around the bandages.
I use it when my knees flare up and don’t want to use NSAIDs Relives pain for a couple of days.
Knee ice compression works! relief !!
